Reducing Container Dwell Time

Reducing container time dwell is one of the priority for our government in Logistics sector.  Off course, one it can be reduced, other Logistics costs planned to follow.

The activity was conducted on Monday, January 21st, 2013 from 08.00 AM - 12.25 PM on IPC (known before as Pelindo) Tan
jung Priok and headed by Mr. Hatta Rajasa as Ministry of Coordination Economic Affair.  The idea is going to use IT to assist Management function (POAC) and also will be used as national database.

After the presentation, Mr. Rajasa and colleagues were visiting JICT to see the actual procedure happened.  From what we read in newspaper, it can be concluded that there are many non-economic parties in the Port Area which supposed to be Restricted Public Area (RPA).

I believe not everybody is happy with the usage of  IT for this sector due it could also the affect to reduce hanky panky and other additional cost indicated as corruption.  However, this is the only way we have process if we want to have a competitiveness in Maritime-Based Logistics.
